FROM WHERE IT COMES?

In the course of million of years, as the terrestrial scab was moving, raising and resinking, rocky quartziferous veins containing tracks made of native gold were exposed to the action of the atmospheric agents, allowing a crumbling and abrasion process. The winter intense cold was splitting the quartz and the rocks so crushed forming the bed of violent water courses, the gold wisps of straw were freeing of the quartzous matrix and following for a little the movement of the current that was transporting towards the valley, but given the very high specific gravity, soon they depositing well on the fund concentrating more and more.

Some aureum sediments coming from the alpine arc have been dragged at valley at the end of the Glacial-age and covered all the Po Valley disseminating the precious metal under form of wisps of straw with various dimensions.

The gold in the rivers-bed comes in little part from the decay of the moraines and for most from the action of waters on the aureum layers which appear in the valley cuts. In the periods of intense precipitations the river, during the flood, renews the bed where runs moving the fund and eroding the banks, and, while the lightest materials are transported as far as the Adriatico sea, the most weigthing ones stay at mountain. Also the particles made of gold are dragged away, but they stop there where, on the outer side of the bends, the current decreases of intensity. Then, with descending of the flood, water retires leaving the buried flakes between the sand and the stones in the river-bed.

As the metal proceeds in his journey toward valley its dimensions decrease and he assumes a form always more flattened: that I sharpen typical of the minute wisps of straw than the seekers they find in the rivers.

Passed the flood the gravel bank emerges and on it the seeker's expert eye can distinguish the deposits of "rich dark sands" of metals, they usually have surface lengthened in the verso of the current and some meter wide. Finded the point, the seeker begins his work.
